I have been an artist for thirty years, or there abouts. I hold a bachelor's degree in fine arts, and I have experience in several mediums such as glass engraving, watercolors, acrylics, wood sculpture, and cloisonne. I am currently working in digital photography, and often use photomanipulation to achieve the look that I want. I tend to look at subjects close up in order to find the patterns and designs that lie within the subject....the things that most folks might not have noticed or seen. I also do some fairly straightforward photography, but once again I tend to look for the unusual subjects and images.
I like to work with bright, intense, and very saturated colors, using uncommon color contrasts. I also favor interesting textural contrasts. Many of my works combine the two types of contrast for even greater impact in the image. The intense color work comes from the fact that life for me has been a very intense affair and it sort of leaks out into the work that I do. The digital medium has made it possible for me to arrive at images that I have not been able to produce correctly with the more traditional mediums as the colors never seemed to match my internal vision..
